GATEHOUSE: the community platform for Operation Iron Gate in Vallejo and Solano County

GATEHOUSE is the free community platform from Pathfinders for Hope, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Vallejo. It is a smaller version of Operation Iron Gate, our referral tracking and accountability software, and it is open now. Neighbors, volunteers and local agencies use it to find resources, ask questions, report referrals that went nowhere, and tell us what to build next.

GATEHOUSE is not a crisis line. Need help today? Call 211 (24 hours, anywhere in California). In an emergency, call 911.

What is GATEHOUSE?

Operation Iron Gate is a closed-loop referral system: sent is not the same as served, and nothing closes into unknown. It is still being built. GATEHOUSE is the part you can use today. What members tell us here decides what we add, change or remove in the full system. It does not replace 211, and direct intake for the North Bay Pilot is projected to start around January 2027. The pilot has not launched and no results are claimed.

What you can do inside the community platform

Find local resources

Search local help and see Tonight: open shelter beds, meals and intake slots that Vallejo and Solano County agencies posted today.

Get help through the process

Ask questions in the Q&A and get answers from our team and from members who know the system.

Report a referral that went nowhere

Sent for help and nothing happened? Report it and follow its public status until it is fixed. The agency name stays private.

Add your voice to City Council

Put your name on the 500 Voices ask. Pathfinders for Hope will take your voices to Vallejo City Council.

Follow the pilot as it is built

Read the real story in Announcements and Pilot Updates, and tell us what you think, the good and the bad.

Put your agency on the map

Nonprofits, churches and agencies can list their organization and post what they have open for Tonight.

Who GATEHOUSE is for

Neighbors who have been through the referral maze, volunteers, and the nonprofits, churches, hospitals and agencies who send and receive referrals. If you care about what happens to people between one agency and the next, you belong here. You can start with the public pages first:

How GATEHOUSE connects to Operation Iron Gate

Operation Iron Gate tracks every referral until the person is confirmed served, so no one gets lost between agencies. Learn how it works: What is Operation Iron Gate?, What is referral accountability?, the difference between a referral and a confirmed handoff, and the North Bay Pilot. You can also visit the Pathfinders for Hope Community page.

GATEHOUSE questions

What is GATEHOUSE?

GATEHOUSE is the free community platform from Pathfinders for Hope, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Vallejo, California. It is a smaller version of Operation Iron Gate, our referral tracking and accountability software, and it is open now. Members find local resources, ask questions, report referrals that went nowhere, and tell us what to build next.

Is GATEHOUSE free?

Yes. A free account takes about a minute. You confirm your email and you are in.

Is GATEHOUSE a crisis line or a way to get a bed tonight?

No. GATEHOUSE does not replace 211, and it is not a crisis line. If you need help today, call 211 (open 24 hours, anywhere in California). In an emergency, call 911.

When does direct intake start?

Direct intake for the North Bay Pilot is projected to start around January 2027. The pilot has not launched yet, and no results are claimed. GATEHOUSE is open now so the community can use a working piece of Operation Iron Gate and help shape the rest.

Where does GATEHOUSE work?

The pilot runs in Vallejo and Solano County, and the local resources, agencies and events inside GATEHOUSE are for that area. Anyone, anywhere in the U.S., can create an account to follow the pilot as it is built.

What happens when I report a referral that went nowhere?

You describe what happened and follow its public status: Open, Looked at, Fixed or Cannot fix. The agency name stays private. The point is to find where people get lost between agencies so it can be fixed.

How can an agency or nonprofit take part?

List your organization in the Get on the Map group inside GATEHOUSE, and see the public directory at /vallejo-agencies/. Agencies can also post open beds, meals and intake slots for Tonight so people see current availability.
