Operation Iron Gate, from Pathfinders for Hope, is built to record that part. Santa Rosa organizations can watch its first pilot in the open.

City-funded programs housed 718 people in fiscal 2024/25 and 406 in fiscal 2025/26, a drop of 43 percent, while they sheltered 1,710 people and served 5,522. When moves out of shelter slow down, every referral toward housing has to be followed all the way to the door.

No. It has not launched anywhere. The first pilot is being prepared in Vallejo, and no Santa Rosa launch has been announced.
The January 2025 count for the City of Santa Rosa recorded 1,140 people homeless in the city. Down 16 percent from 1,365 in 2024. Sonoma County's preliminary 2026 count found 1,951 people countywide; the 2026 city figure has not been published yet. Of the 1,140 people counted, 552 were sheltered and 588 were unsheltered.
In the 2025 count, homeless veterans fell 39 percent and youth fell 24 percent, while families rose 37 percent and chronic homelessness rose 20 percent. Santa Rosa's Homelessness Solutions Strategic Plan, adopted in November 2022, aims for functional zero homelessness in the city by 2027. The city's Safe Parking Program has up to 50 spaces for people living in vehicles. Sonoma County's preliminary 2026 count found youth homelessness up 46 percent, to 168, and people in shelter up from 829 to 853. No. Operation Iron Gate is not a replacement for the Sonoma County Homeless Coalition or any provider's own records. It is built to confirm that a referral between organizations reached the person, including the referrals out of Santa Rosa's shelters and into housing.
